A wonderful photographic collage celebrating the seasons. A nice collection of Hosta leaves, a plant I once tried growing on my garden but the climate is just to hot.
I like you sidebar quote about collecting and taking walks.
What a great way to return to the blog world. Just back from an idyllic few days in the wilderness and seeing your beautiful new header made me think I was still there. Lovely post, Leslie.
Leslie, love the hosta leaves, especially the photo in your sidebar. Hostas are one of my garden staples, and now I have a new appreciation of them as they die out for winter. And the photo of the tree branches is inspiration for some mark making, I bet.
walking is one of my favorite things! And you have found and photo'd some lovely bits of nature. Nature is always inspiring and we miss so much even riding a bike and certainly driving in a car. Virgina Woolf used to take long walks after writing and the bronte sisters would walk around their dining table over and over when it was too cold to be outside (or am I misremembering this?)
Leslie, A very strange blog thing happened when I responded to your post. My comment came in as dpr who is a follower of my blog. I have no explanation for this. Margaret
I really like the colors and textures in this collage. the lines of the trees, the shapes of the leaves, and the symbolism of the bird all work very well together. Fall is my favorite time of year, and this piece really evokes feelings of the excitement of this season for me.
Gorgeous set of images. All but one remind me of the colours and shapes seen in your own collage pieces, which is a lovely echo, I think..... Love your quotes about walking and tea!
Hosta, my favorite shade plant and yours have turned faster than those right outside new york city....and what type of hawk is that in flight? Its wings are cupped downwards in a what may be a long glide.
Oh my goodness Leslie! I have a full screen of your images up & they are breath taking! Thanks so much for sharing. I very much appreciate your comments on my blog. (Havn't all the recent art redux posts on the blogs been just juicy!) Am anxious to see where your inspirational photos lead you in your art!
Leslie--I love your header TOO! It reminds me that I NEED to get to the ocean. I was SO close this weekend but we chose to spend more time in the town and not driving for hours to see the ocean. The granddaughter was not as patient as I would have been! Love the montage of photos. Where were they all taken? Close to home?
What a wealth of beautiful images you discovered! Thank you so much for sharing your riches.
ReplyDeletelovely. hmmmm, some of these photos remind me of work done by a certain collage artist ... oh, that'd be you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collage, Leslie. And I love-love that new sea foam header!

this is a special way to see the world around you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... the true essence of autumn isn´t the bright browns + reds - it´s the greys + silvers + neutrals...

ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like some of the out of focus shots - wonder if and how they might make it into your paintings?
